Table Football ( foosball )
Anyone who has ever been on a European campsite know two things and that’s the toilet blocks are too far away and that the Germans always win the table football. Table football ( foosball ) dates back to the 1890s but more latterly updated by a Spurs supporter who was looking as gift ideas for his son. So the story goes he initially used boxes of matches as players and the rest, as they say, is history.
Things have moved on somewhat since then and the game of table football ( soccer for our American friends ) is now big business with a proper governing body , well drilled Pro stlye teams and annual world cups. There was even some talk about it becoming an Olympic event !
Many different types of tables exist with brand leaders often running their own international competitions but with prices can be as high as $25,000 for one table buying one was often out of the reach of many people. There was even a $100,000 7 meter table recently shown with eleven players a side controlling the table. At the other end of the size scale the latest craze for mini table football has made it even easier for fans of the game to be able to play at home. These new high quality six a side table football games give you all of the big table experience ( no spinning please ) without the major cost and space issues.
If it is raining outside and match of the day is not on the box I can think of nothing better than getting some mates round , cracking open a case of beer and running around your front room with you shirt over your head celebrating the goal of the season.
Now all we got to is to practice Penalties and beat those pesky Germans.
